ABSTRACT
Field experiment was conducted to study the response of phosphorus and zinc nutrition on nutritional quality and yield of maize. Response of maize was significant due to application of P and Zn. Application of P@ 40, 60 and 80 kg ha-1 resulted in increased yield to the tune of 11, 18 and 20 per cent, respectively over no use of P while 9 percent increase with increasing levels from 0 to 20 kg ZnS04 ha-1.Concentration of N, P, Ca, S and Zn in root was significantly increased with increasing levels of P and Zn, it accumulated higher Fe followed by Zn. Ca content of maize grain increased significantly from 8.06 to 13.44% by the application of P @ 40 to 80 kg P ha-1 while S content partly due to the addition of S through SSP.
