ABSTRACT
An experiment was laid out at the experimental field of Division of Vegetable Science, SKUAST-Kashmir,Jammu & Kashmir during kharif 2009 and kharif 2010. The response of quality attributes of tomato towards different organic sources as well as inorganic source was estimated. Results obtained proved that quality attributes of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill) were increased with organic source of plant nutrient management compared with inorganic sources. The different organic sources of plant nutrients used were (FYM = 38 t ha-1, SM = 32 t ha-1, PM = 7 t ha-1, VC = 14 t ha-1 and biofertilizers @ 2.5 kg ha-1) compared with inorganic plant nutrients (RFD 100%). Both as alone and in combination with inorganic sources, these organic sources were used. Among lone applications of organics T4 (PM : 7 t ha-1) treament proved superior with respect to quality paramaters as T.S.S (0Brix).Vitamin C(mg 100-1 g), Fruit acidity (%), Lycopene content(mg 100-1) and protein content (%) while among integrated applications of plant nutrients treatment T9 (3.5t+95N:75 P2O5:55 K2O) proved superior with respect to these quality parametres of tomato.
