ABSTRACT
A field experiment on malt barley crop was conducted at Udaipur (Rajasthan) during rabi to assess the response of soil moisture depletion and mulching on growth, protein, growth kinetics, quality parameters, nutrient content and uptake. Results revealed that amongst treatments of soil moisture depletion, irrigation given at 25 per cent soil moisture depletion recorded the highest protein content, CGR, NAR, nutrient content and uptake by grain and straw of crop. In mulch treatments maize stover mulch applied @ 6 t ha-1 recorded the highest protein content, growth kinetics viz., CGR and NAR, nutrient content and uptake by malt barley crop.
