ABSTRACT
The nutrient need of Indian agriculture is very large and no single plant nutrient source can meet the entire plant nutrient demand. Integrated plant nutrient supply system involving use of chemical, organic and biofertiliser is being promoted in modern agriculture. Sal oilcake contains good amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and potash. If it is value added, its nutrient quantity is improved. There is influence of different regions on its nutrient content. As tribal people depend on this forest crop, it is necessary to explore possibility of using Salcake as manure in order to uplift tribal economy. The deoiled cake contains 1.64-2.45% Nitrogen, 0.94-1.05% Phosphorus and 1.45-1.74% Potash. These values are also influenced by locations pertaining to different agroclimatic zones. Salcake along with chemical fertiliser (50%) enhanced the yield of wheat almost near to 100% chemical fertiliser with BC ratio of 1.18. It enhanced N-fixer and P- solubiliser also. Technology of value addition has been developed and SWOT analysis has been made for using salcake as manure under INM.
