ABSTRACT
Experiments were conducted for screening chilli genotypes against chilli leaf curl and anthracnose diseases. It was found that the leaf curl disease incidence under plant protection cover was comparatively low (50.16 %) with the average disease incidence (76.96%) without any plant protection cover. Also the anthracnose disease incidence under plant protection cover was 17.54 % as compared to the average disease incidence (21.47%) without any plant protection cover. However among the fifteen genotypes screened Hyb 3(2)-3 and Hyb 3(2)-1 was found lowest in terms of percent disease incidence and percent disease index against leaf curl and anthracnose disease. The present study confirmed that the genotype viz., Hyb3(2)-3, Hyb3(2)-2 was moderately resistant against leaf curl disease and AC575 and for Hyb3(2)-1 was resistant against anthracnose disease. The significant character association with yield was found among all the disease incidence parameters except percentage disease leaf curl transformed data (-0.464). While the significant correlation for anthracnose disease parameters with yield was found only on percentage disease anthracnose transformed data (-0.532).
