ABSTRACT
Tomato is affected by many diseases including viruses. In recent year among viral disease Tospovirus, a groundnut bud necrosis virus disease is more destructive in respect to yield and tomato production. Groundnut bud necrosis virus (GBNV) belongs to Tospo virus genus which is only one genus which infects plants which belong to Bunyaviridae family. This transmits by thrips. To find resistance source for GBNV screening of tomato (Solanum lycopersicon) lines and wild species Solanum perivianum and S. lycopersicon were done in natural condition. Tomato lines screened all were susceptible to virus, whereas in wild species did not show any infection and symptoms in natural condition. This was proved in serological and biological assay.
