ABSTRACT
Nutrient requirement of rainfed Bt cotton by conjoint use of organic and inorganic fertilizers based on targeted yield approach on Vertisols was conducted with Bt. cotton (BRAHMA BG -II) during 2010-11. Fertilizer adjustment equations under (STCR) system were formulated for Bt cotton under rainfed condition following Ramamurthy's inductive-cum-targeted yield model. The nutrient requirement for production of one quintal of Bt. cotton under rainfed situation was found to be 2.48, 0.78 and 3.12 kg of N, P2O5 and K2O, respectively. The per cent contribution of soil and fertilizer nutrients was found to be 11.08 and 46.34 for N, 18.60 and 21.35 for P2O5 and 8.66 and 81.40 for K20, respectively. Likewise, the per cent contribution from farmyard manure (FYM) was 24.58, 3.20 and 30.22 kg ha-1 of N, P205 and K20, respectively. The conjoint use of organic and inorganic fertilizer technology, the fertilizer doses are tailored to the requirements of specific yield targets of rainfed Bt cotton.
