ABSTRACT
Stability is defined as ability of a variety to maintain stable yield under changing environmental conditions or it refers to the behaviour of a crop in varying environments. The study was carried out at the experimental farm of the Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan. The data was taken for four flushes, that is, Flush I (November, 2017), Flush II (April, 2018), Flush III (June, 2018) and Flush IV (August, 2018). Twelve cultivars of rose were selected for stability analysis, viz, 'Avalanche', 'Confetti', 'Corvette', 'First Red', 'Gavanna', 'Gold Strike', 'Hollywood', 'Nobelesse', 'Peach Avalanche', 'Sweet Avalanche', 'Taj Mahal' and 'Tineke'. Observations regarding various vegetative and flowering attributes of these cultivars were recorded. Pooled analysis for all the flushes were carried out to ascertain significant G x E interactions. Results showed that cvs 'Tineke', 'Hollywood', 'Corvette' and 'Avalanche' can be selected for further breeding programme as they exhibited stability in performance for most of the characters under study.
