ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted to know the response of chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflora Tzvelev) to balanced nutrition with bio-inoculants at College of Horticulture, Mudigere during 2015-16. Plants treated with Bacillus megaterium + Bacillus mucilaginosus+ MgSO4 +Micronutrient mixture (T22) recorded significantly maximum plant height (69.50 cm), stem girth (8.46 mm) ,intermodal length (3.35 cm), plant spread N-S (37.75 cm), plant spread E-W (39.00 cm), number of primary branches (32), secondary branches (28.75), tertiary branches (22.50), number of leaves (112.50) flowering characters and flowers per plant (100), flower yield per plant (627.20 g), flower yield per plot (61.46 kg), flower yield (30.73 t/ha) and total bacteria (cfu/g soil) 10-5 (224.00), 10-6 (190.50), total fungi (cfu/g soil) 10-3 (20.50) , 10-4 (14.50), total actinomycetes (cfu/g soil) 10-2 (25.50), 10-3 (16.00), total PSB (cfu/g soil) 10-5 (16.00), 10-6(14.00), total KSB (cfu/g soil) 10-5(13.00), 10-6(12.00) and chlorophyll content followed by Azotobacter + Bacillus mucilaginosus+ MgSO4 + Micronutrient mixture (T21) and Azotobacter + Bacillus megaterium+ MgSO4 + Micronutrient mixture (T20) over the other treatments.
