ABSTRACT
Studies on heterosis in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) was undertaken at ZAHRS, Navule, Shivamogga district, Karnataka during kharif and rabi seasons of year 2016-17. A total of 27 crosses were developed by crossing with nine lines with each of three testers. All the crosses were evaluated along with the parents in Randomized block design with two replications. The hybrids DWD × Haveri Local, US-640 × Haveri Local and Himangi × Haveri Local are the top most hybrids in order of merit for yield potentiality. US-640 × Haveri Local exhibit the maximum significant standard heterosis over both the checks for yield per vine and same cross exhibit the maximum significant standard heterosis for fruit length, average fruit weight, number of fruits per vine over both the standard checks.
