ABSTRACT
The present study was carried out to know about genetic variability and heritability of grain yield and yield related traits in 35 finger millet genotypes. Analysis of Variance revealed significant variation for all traits studied. Phenotypic Coefficient of Variation (PCV) was higher than Genotypic Coefficient of Variation (GCV) indicating the greater role of environmental factors in the observed variation for all the characters under study. High heritability coupled with high genetic advance as percent of mean was recorded for plant height, seed iron, manganese and copper contents revealing preponderance of additive gene action and simple selection in the studied genotypes may be helpful in improvement these trait.
