ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted at Agricultural College Farm, Raichur during kharif, 2008 to study the response of pigeonpea to different methods of establishment. Significant difference was noticed on growth characters of pigeonpea due to different methods of establishment. Among different methods of stablishment transplanted pigeonpea recorded significantly higher plant height, number of leaves, dry matter production and its distribution and leaf area per plant at all the stages of crop growth. Transplanted pigeonpea took significantly more number of days to reach 50 per cent flowering.
