ABSTRACT
Various phenotypic traits viz., Stem pigmentation, petiole pigmentation, petal base pigmentation, fruit pigmentation, fruit surface were studied in seven parents (P1 (AE 64 (White)), P2 (AE 64 (Pink)), P3 (AE 65 (White)), P4 (AE 65 (Pink)), P5 (AE 66 (Pink)), P6 (AE 70 (White)) and P7 (AE 71 (White)) and their 42 hybrids. The color of stem and petiole were green in four parents, purple in only one parent and it was observed green and red tinge or veins in two parents. Among the hybrids twelve, four and twenty six found green, purple and green with red tinge on stem and petiole respectively. Pink color pigmentation was found both sides of petal base in three parents and only inner side of petal base in four parents. Among the hybrids the pigmentation was found both sides in 30 hybrids and only inner side of petal base in 12. Fruit color was dark green in all the parents and hybrids except in the parent P5 (Light Green). Smooth fruit surface was observed in six hybrids. The best hybrids were those with dark green fruit colour and smooth fruit surface.
