ABSTRACT
The present study was taken in Jalgaon-Jamod and Sangrampur Panchayat Samiti of Buldana District of Maharashtra State. The training on integrated pest management practices in cotton conducted by KVK Jalgaon-Jamod during last three years 2000-2001, 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 were purposively selected for the study. List of IPM trainees was obtained from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jalgaon-Jamod. There were 159 farmers from 6 villages of Jalgaon-Jamod and Sangrampur Panchayat Samiti who had received training on IPM in cotton. Data were collected from 159 trainee farmers by personally interviewing. The every trainee respondents with the help of pre-tested structured schedule in an informal atmosphere. The study was based on expost facto design of social research. The finding with regards to utility perception about skill demonstrated in training the practices like using of light traps and pheromone traps, use of Trichogramma and Chrysopa card, use of Ha NPV, use of Bacillus thuriengesis, control of whitefly by using neem seed extract involves skills and the utility of these skill are not properly received by the trainee farmers. They are lacking in utility perception about skill demonstrated in IPM practices. This is evidenced by the finding that majority of the farmers found to be in the medium level of utility perception about skill demonstrated in training programme.
