ABSTRACT
The present study was taken in Jalgaon-Jamod and Sangrampur Panchayat Samiti of Buldana district of Maharashtra State. Mainely the study was confined to the villages under Jurisdiction of Krishi Vigyan Kendra. The training on integrated pest management (IPM) practices in cotton conducted by KVK Jalgaon-Jamod during last three years 2000-2001, 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 were purposively selected for the study. List of IPM trainees was obtained from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jalgaon-Jamod. There were 159 farmers from 6 villages of Jalgaon-Jamod and Sangrampur Panchayat Samiti who had received training on IPM in cotton. Data were collected from 159 trainee farmers by personally interviewing. The every trainee respondents with the help of pre-tested structured schedule in an informal atmosphere. The study was based on expost facto design of social research.
The finding with regards to utility preception of the farmers about knowledge imparted in training revealed that majority of farmers found to be in the medium level of utility perception about knowledge imparted in training on IPM practices in cotton. It implied that there is scope to increase the utility perception of trainee farmers from medium to high.
