ABSTRACT
The present investigation was carried out on seven local genotypes of guava viz., GLG1, GLG2, SLG, BLG, BoLG, HLG and LSG under net house condition, at Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, Latur during 2009-2011. The experiment was laid out in Completely Randomized Design with seven treatments (guava genotypes) replicated thrice. The LSG ( Sardar) genotype taken as control. The results were obtained for parameters of germination, growth and survival percentage of seedlings. Among the different local guava genotypes studied, the SLG genotype performance better in respect minimum number of days (21.93) for initiation of germination, minimum days (41.67) for potential germination, highest germination vigour index (0.83), maximum germination percentage (91.67), maximum (52.18cm) length of seedling, maximum stem diameter (0.71cm), maximum number of leaves (35.37), maximum leaf area (71.06 cm2), maximum length of tap root (30.32 cm), maximum number of secondary roots (48.67), maximum length of secondary roots (16.27cm) and highest survival percentage of seedling (82.67%) of seedlings during nursery stage.
