ABSTRACT
In an evaluation study of 14 cultivars of strawberry for two consecutive years 2011-12 and 2012-13, 'Chandler' gave the highest fruit length (34.48 mm) and fruit breadth (27.90 mm). The maximum number of achenes (195.17) were observed in the cultivar Belrubi. Maximum TSS (11.10oB), titratable acidity (0.93 %), reducing sugars (4.92 %) and non reducing sugars (1.94 %) were recorded from the fruits of cultivars Selva, Etna, Sweet Charlie and Douglas, respectively. Like other characters highest total sugars percentage to the tune of 6.57 per cent was estimated in the cultivar Sweet Charlie. The cultivar Selva had the highest value for TSS/acid ratio (17.51) and Total sugars/acid ratio (9.59).
