ABSTRACT
The present investigation was carried out at the Horticulture Instructional Farm (Greenhouse Unit), Department of Horticulture, JAU Junagadh during the year 2008-10. The experiment was laid out in Completely Randomized Design. The treatments comprised with 11 varieties and three replications. The varieties were Salvadore (V1), Sunway (V2), Doni (V3), Essence (V4), Dana Allen (V5), Savannah (V6), Winter Queen (V7), Avant Grade (V8), Dalma (V9), Pink Elegance (V10) and Rosaline (V11). Variation in parameters were found significant due to different varieties. Significantly maximum plant height (29.88 cm) was recorded in variety Dalma, whereas, highest plant spread E-W & N-S (49.04 & 49.10 cm) were recorded in Pink Elegance & Dana Allen, respectively. Similarly, Sunway required minimum days to open the first flower (58.48) followed by vareity Avant Grade. Likewise, highest stalk length (57.63 cm), stalk thickness (6.33 mm) and flower diameter (10.73 cm) were registered in variety Savannah. However, the highest fresh weight of cut flower (70.17 g) was noted in variety Dana Allen and was found at par with Pink Elegance and Savannah. In case of cut flower yield, maximum number of cut flower (260.22 /m2/year) was obtained in variety Pink Elegance. However, was observed at par with Savannah and Dana Allen. For economic, the variety Pink Elegance was found better for higher remuneration in poly house condition.
