S.H. SINGH, KHUMUKCHAM JOSHNA and P. PAL. 2015. Varietal performance & correlation studies in anthurium under agro-shade net. Green Farming Vol. 6 (2) : 281-283 ; March-April, 2015

ABSTRACT
Evaluation of anthurium for its growth habit, flowering behaviour and yield under 50% agro-shade net and their association between thirteen vegetative and floral parameters along with their magnitude towards number of flowers per plant was studied among ten varieties of anthurium. The varieties viz., Salasaga, Chicas, Noblesse, Elan, Ivory, Jewel, Monroe, Grace, Aymara and Titicaca were taken for study. Significant differences among cultivars were noted for all attributes evaluated. Variety 'Titicaca' had maximum plant height (33.74cm), average number of leaves per plant (7.36), leaf length (20.59cm) and breadth (13.40cm), maximum number of suckers per plant (3.75), stalk length (31.16mm) and diameter (5.66mm), spathe length (16.41cm) and breadth (9.33cm), spadix length (6.37cm), flowers per plant (10.20cm) and vase life (18.89 days). Correlations revealed that number of flowers per plant had positive and highly significant correlation with plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf breadth, number of suckers per plant, stalk length, spathe length, spathe diameter, spadix length, spadix diameter and vase life.
