ABSTRACT
The experiment was conducted on effect of Azotobacter in combination with nitrogen on yield and seed production of bell pepper at Dr. Y. S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry Nauni, Solan (H.P.) with 'California Wonder' bell pepper during summer season. The fifteen treatment combinations comprised 3 cultures of Azotobacter i.e. A0 (No Azotobacter), A1 (Azotobacter) and A2 (Natrin). The experiment was laid out in a randomized block design (RBD) having three replications in a plot size of 2.40 x 2.25 m. Seedlings were spaced at 60 x 45 cm. The observation recorded on number of fruits per plant, fruit yield per plant and per hectare, seed yield per plot and seed yield per hectare. It was concluded that an application of 100 kg N/ha in combination with Azotobacter significantly influenced fruit yield per plot and per hectare. Whereas, the highest and good quality seeds of bell pepper was obtained by inoculation of Natrin in combination with 100 kg N/ha. An application of nutrient (0.5 kg/ha seed treatment + 1 kg/ha seedling treatment + 5 kg/ha soil treatment along with (100 kg N/ha) may be suggested.
