ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted at College Agronomy Farm, B. A. College of Agriculture, Anand Agricultural University, Anand, Gujarat during rabi season of 2005 and 2006 on loamy sand soil to study the effect of integrated nutrient management on growth, yield attributes and yield of wheat. There were twenty four treatment combinations comprising combination of three organic manure treatments (Control, Vermicompost @ 5 t/ha and FYM @ 10 t/ha) with four phosphorus/bio-fertilizer treatments (60 kg P2O5/ha, 20 kg P2O5/ha + PSB, 40 kg P2O5/ha + PSB and PSB alone) and two sulphur levels (S0 : 0 kg S/ha and S1: 40 kg S/ha) tested in split plot design with four replications. Application of FYM @ 10 t/ha noted higher plant height and number of effective tillers plant-1 and grain and straw yields of wheat with maximum gross and net returns, while application vermicompost 5 t/ha noted higher grain yield plant-1. Significantly higher plant height, grain yield plant-1 grain yield and net realization was observed in treatment of 60 kg P2O5/ha, while higher number of effective tillers/plant and straw yield was recorded in treatment 40 kg P2O5/ha + PSB. Similarly, application of sulphur also recorded higher plant height at harvest, number of effective tillers/plant, and grain and straw yields with maximum grain return over no sulphur application.
