ABSTRACT
Stability for grain yield performance and genotype x environment (GxE) interaction was studied in thirty bread wheat genotypes evaluated at under three different environmental conditions in Kymore pleatue of Madhya pradesh over two years. The combined and individual analysis of variance for planting season and years was conducted. In pooled analysis of variance high significant (p<0.01) difference were observed for genotypes, environments and genotype x environment (GxE) interaction. A joint regression analysis was applied to grain yield data to estimate the stability parameters viz., regression coefficient (b), s.e. (b) and deviation from regression coefficients (S2d) for each genotype. Genotypes, 31ESWYT-123 and 31ESWYT-126 possessing regression coefficient near unity (0.839 &0.798) and also low value of deviation from regression (0.096 & 0.025) with high mean yield (12.61 &12.23 g/plant) over all the trails for the two years and are considered as stable genotypes. This indicates broad adaptation and stable performance of genotypes in all environments. These findings suggested that both the genotypes could be used as varieties over different planting seasons.
