ABSTRACT
A field experiment was carried out at the Department of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Kittur Rani Channamma College of Horticulture, Arabhavi with 27 treatments of different combinations organic manures and inorganic fertilizers. Application of 5.0 tonnes FYM + 1.0 tonne vermicompost + 30 : 40 : 30 kg NPK per hectare recorded significantly maximum plant height (76.68 cm), number of leaves per plant (47.48) and dry root yield (9.33 q/ha). The highest net returns (` 37,945/ha) and the highest benefit cost ratio (1 : 4.07) were recorded with the combined application of 2.5 t FYM + 1.0 t vermicompost + 15 : 20 : 15 kg NPK per hectare.
