ABSTRACT
From a cross between parents BPT 5204 × HPR 14 selection of 116 selected early and medium duration recombinant inbred lines during kharif 2009 with an objective of assessing yield and its components, micro and macronutrients and grain cooking quality traits and identifying high protein RIL's. These genotypes were developed with an objective of developing genotype with high yielding, fine grained with increased protein content. Genotype HPR 1454 recorded high grain yield (42.22gm) and significantly superior over checks and parents with moderate grain protein content of 9.65 per cent. In the present study HPR 0119, HPR 0346, HPR 0621, HPR 0548, HPR 0580, HPR 1451, HPR 1461, HPR 1908, HPR 1677, and HPR 0055 genotypes were found to be superior in total grain protein content under aerobic condition. HPR 0119 genotype recorded high protein content of about 13.79 per cent with moderate yield of 32.32 gm which is on par with checks MAS 26 and MAS 946-1 for yield.
