ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted during rainy seasons of 2013-14 and 2014-15 at the Rajola Krishi Research Farm, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Chitrakoot Satna, Madhya Pradesh, to study the effect of phosphorus and biofertilizers on growth, yield and quality of pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan L.) variety UPAS-120. Application of phosphorus up to 90 kg/ha to pigeonpea proved the most beneficial with respect to enhance all the growth and yield attributing characters, grain yield, grain quality and net income per hectare. The maximum seed yield was 16.06 (q/ha.), seed protein 19.83% and net income ` 77890 /hectare and B:C ratio up to 3.94. Amongst the biofertilizer treatments Rhizobium + PSB performed the best with respect to all these parameters. The treatment interactions were found to be non-significant in case of grain yield per hectare. The findings allude that 60 kg P2O5/ha. with dual biofertilizers may be applied to achieve maximum productivity and economical grain from pigeonpea variety UPAS-120.
