ABSTRACT
Eight isolates of Beauveria bassiana collected from different locations in various insect hosts are identified morphologically and were characterized by PCR based DNA sequencing analysis. The result showed that among the eight isolates BbI6 and BbI7 showed slight variations in their growth pattern at macroscopic conditions, however no differences were observed morphologically at microscopic level. PCR based DNA sequencing proved that all isolates, irrespective of insect hosts and locations were found to be identified as B. bassiana at molecular level. The homology and variations based on amino acid sequences among the isolates showed high similarity between four isolates BbI3, BbI4, BbI6 and BbI7.
