ABSTRACT
Progenies of North Carolina design III from two crosses of tobacco viz., GC 1 x Rangpur (cross I) and GCT 3 x GC 1 (cross II) along with their selfed progenies ( F3) were evaluated in field. Mean characteristics values of progenies of NCD III were significantly superior for most of the characters as compared to their F3 progenies. The additive variances for yield and plant height in both crosses and for days to flower in cross I and dominance variance for plant height in cross II were found significant.
