ABSTRACT
Arecanut (Areca catechu) is a tropical palm that is mainly cultivated for the masticatory purpose. This study was conducted in order to standardize the actual amount of fertilizers to be applied when black pepper is cultivated with arecanut as a mixed crop. Eight treatments were replicated thrice in Randomized complete block design during the year 2017-19. The treatments included different doses of fertilizers applied in different methods of fertilizer application viz., soil application, fertigation, and foliar application at different duration. The observations were recorded at bimonthly intervals and it was observed that the treatments including 100 % dosage of fertilizer along with zinc and boron in both the crops and also 80 % of the nutrients applied in integrated method of fertilizer application showed better results in arecanut. However, the results of this study need further confirmation by applying for a longer duration in younger palms.
